Lewis Center OH (November 4, 2014) Today, NexTech Materials celebrated its 20th anniversary as a provider of energy and environmental solutions. Founded in 1994, by the current CEO (William J. Dawson) and CTO (Scott L. Swartz), the company has grown to 34 employees in its headquarters and manufacturing facility outside Columbus, Ohio. Over the past 20 years, the company has been awarded 12 US and 9 foreign patents for its technological developments in fuel cells, sensors and catalysis.
The company has grown from an industrial research and development service provider to a manufacturer of high performance sensors, environmental catalysts and solid oxide fuel cell solutions. As technologies have transitioned from the research stage to product status, NexTech has created brands to carry these products to market, including:
- fuelcellmaterials.com (launched in 2000) which has become a premier supplier of products to OEMs and researchers in the solid oxide fuel cell arena,
- NTMSensors (launched in 2010) which offers a range of hydrogen and other gas sensors to OEMs and resellers in the energy storage and hydrogen generation markets,
- Nexceris (launched in 2010) which transitions NexTech’s fuel cell technology to products for established market segments including air pollution abatement, chemical synthesis and corrosion protection.
At a company gathering celebrating the anniversary, NexTech’s CEO, Bill Dawson said, “We really want to thank all of our wonderful customers, employees, suppliers, and partners for helping us achieve this important milestone. Without their support, we could never have made it this far.”
CTO Scott Swartz commented, “I am incredibly proud of what NexTech has accomplished over the years, from building a business from the ground up, watching our young employees mature into solid engineers and leaders, and to establish a worldwide reputation for technical excellence and collaboration.”
Both founders were excited about NexTech’s continued growth and expansion. Mr. Dawson summarized his perspective on the next several years by stating, “The future has never been brighter for our company as we continue to develop and deliver important new products that will make all of our lives better.”
