We are delighted to announce that our company name will be changing as of October 1st from NexTech Materials, Ltd. to Nexceris LLC.
Why the name change? We want our name to better reflect who we have become as a company. While we are still materials experts and suppliers of the quality material products that our customers know, we have also grown into a company that can develop complex components, devices and systems that leverage our materials expertise. Our company is an innovative leader in creating complete solutions for solving some of our most multifaceted energy and environmental problems. We are proud of our 20 year heritage and excited for our future.
This change has no impact on NexTech’s current commitments. All of the agreements that were made under the name NexTech Materials, Ltd. will continue in force. Going forward, all of our invoicing, payments, official documents and contracts will carry the new Nexceris name. We would appreciate your use of the new name in all of your business transactions with us. Our correspondence address, telephone and fax numbers will remain unchanged. Our email addresses will change to the domain @nexceris.com and our homepage will become www.nexceris.com.
Our company is under the same management, and no change in ownership has occurred. We are still the same dedicated team you have worked with, and we look forward to continuing our work together under our new company name.
NexTech was started in 1994 by two Battelle engineers to leverage ceramic process technology for new products like fuel cells and sensors. In 1999, the FuelCellMaterials.com website was launched, where NexTech began to sell its unique and highly engineered materials developed for the fuel cell industry. In 2003, NexTech began development of advanced gas sensors, also in support of the fuel cell industry. NTM Sensors was launched in 2010 and began its offering of commercial hydrogen sensors. These sensors and alarm systems are now sold globally for battery safety, and hydrogen monitoring for a variety of markets. NexTech has also continued to develop its high temperature fuel cell technology, focusing on applications where high energy density and efficiency are paramount. Currently NexTech is developing this technology for a variety of military applications. NexTech has continued to expand its FuelCellMaterials.com brand, having added many new products and distributors in Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Europe and South America.
Nexceris, with its staff of 40, will continue to build on the NexTech legacy with a focus on launching beneficial new products for meeting energy and environmental needs. Nexceris has five product launch efforts that are now active and has several more in its pipeline.
Nexceris has developed and is licensing its ceramic coating process for high temperature components. Its first target market is stationary fuel cells for large commercial installations like data centers and for smaller home energy systems like those being deployed in Asia. The technology has been proven to extend the life of stainless steel to 80,000 hours, and can be applied at a very economical cost. Nexceris will continue to expand manufacturing of its coating products that will be supplied to its licensees and customers in new markets. Nexceris is now working with a number of customers to apply its coating for gas burners used in homes, outdoor grills, and cook stoves designed to meet the needs of third world countries.
Nexceris is developing a range of catalysts for use in commercial and industrial applications. A new product is being launched for destruction of volatile organic compounds that are polluting byproducts in many industrial processes. A compact, modular and cost-effective solution is being developed for launch into the commercial bakery market.
Sensors continue to be a central focus area for Nexceris’ scientists and engineers. For many years Nexceris has been developing sensors for diesel engine diagnostics and control systems. A product is being developed for control of diesel engine exhaust that has unique capabilities for further reduction of the smog-producing components.
Nexceris is also looking to continue to leverage its hydrogen sensor technology. A product is in the late stages of commercial launch that will allow for monitoring of nuclear power plants around the world. In addition, Nexceris is exploring development of a product to make lithium ion batteries safer, particularly in home or marine environments where fire hazard is of particular concern.
Nexceris is continuing to refine and improve its internal processes to speed its product development and launch efforts.
