The Synfine Hydrogenation Catalyst is a nickel-based solution developed for the deep saturation of olefins in synthetic crude oil streams. Supplied as durable 3 mm extrudates, it is designed to perform reliably in packed bed and trickle bed reactors, offering good flow characteristics and consistent activity across large-scale systems.
The catalyst operates effectively at relatively low temperatures starting around 150ยฐC, making it a practical choice for processes where energy efficiency and product stability matter. It works by converting reactive olefins into more stable saturated hydrocarbons, helping to condition syncrude for downstream separation and distillation.
This makes it especially useful in FischerโTropsch applications where product streams often contain higher olefin content. By reducing that reactivity, Synfine helps improve overall fuel yield and produce a more stable, refinery-ready product.
It is a strong fit for gas-to-liquid operations, pilot and commercial reactor systems, and teams working with FT catalysts that do not naturally favor saturation. For developers and operators focused on upgrading syncrude quality, Synfine provides a straightforward and effective hydrogenation step.
