Nexceris was excited to present at the TMS 2022 Annual Meeting & Exhibition held on February 28-March 3, 2022 in Anaheim, California.
Dr. Emir Dogdibegovic, Program Manager, presented on the subject of From Fuel Cells to Electrolyzers and Reversible Operation. The presentation highlights accelerated development of solid oxide technologies at Nexceris over the past two years through systematic and focused team effort.
The keynote presentation was delivered on Monday, February 28 and discussed the development of solid oxide cell and stack technologies at Nexceris. Advancements in fuel cells, electrolyzers and reversible operation were highlighted along with scaling of such technologies. Specific topics covered included:
- Results of the recent stack and breadboard system demonstrations.
- Development of protective coatings for electrolysis stacks and system was addressed showing stable and durable operation.
- A path to reversible system demonstrations at Nexceris was described along with details on reversible electrode materials and cell development leading to stable stack operation for thousands of hours.
“I enjoyed the opportunity to update our colleagues and the scientific and engineering community in the fuel cell industry about the progress in leveraging solid oxide systems for hydrogen, syngas and electricity production. We believe this technology can have a strong global impact and create sustainable pathways for energy resilience, reduction in global carbon dioxide emissions, and provide clean add-value products” stated Dr. Dogdibegovic.
The TMS Annual Meeting & Exhibition brings together engineers, scientists, business leaders, and other professionals in the minerals, metals, and materials fields for a comprehensive, cross-disciplinary exchange of technical knowledge.
