We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the following positions.

This position requires a strong technical background in Solid Oxide Cell development as well as strong leadership capabilities.  The ideal candidate will be familiar with traditional and cutting-edge materials, processing approaches, and testing capabilities.  They will be able to advance our technologies and help develop the growth of our capabilities.  The position reports to the Director of the Solid Oxide Business Unit (SOBU).  A PhD in Material Science or Chemistry is strongly preferred.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Work with the CTO, SOBU Director, and other company cross-functional team leaders to identify, propose and win government and commercial funding of >$10M, annually, in the areas of solid oxide electrolysis (SOEC) and reversible solid oxide cell (RSOC) technologies, and other solid oxide cell (SOC) technologies that align with the company’s strategy. Lead proposal activities and collaborate on other proposals. Support business development by writing white papers and generating website content, making presentations at technical conferences, participating in government-sponsored workshops, and building relationships with potential government and commercial customers.
  2. Serve as Principal Investigator (PI) for Government funded projects on selected SOEC and RSOC projects, SOC stack and system level projects, and other projects aligned that are with company’s strategy. Responsibilities of the principal investigator include planning and oversight of project execution, monthly allocation of labor resources to the project(s), tracking project spending versus budget on the project, assuming responsibility for all project reporting requirements, and serving as the primary customer interface.
  3. Provide technical leadership and guidance to the company on SOC technology projects where they are not the PI. This includes:
    1. Providing technical guidance on how best to solve problems or to address technical challenges
    2. Providing technical mentorship to team members in the SOBU
    3. Reviewing technical reports and presentations
    4. Identifying technical deficiencies and recommending improvements to stack building processes and testing approaches
    5. Providing thought leadership on stack/system designs and models
    6. Making recommendations on SOC technologies and strategies that should be pursued by the SOBU and the company at large
  4. Understand and adhere to all company practices and policies related to company values, safety, quality, and stage-gate product development. Maintain professional relationships with all team members in the company.

Nexceris is currently seeking a shipping and receiving clerk to work in our Lewis Center, OH office.  You will be tasked with receiving incoming materials, shipping finished goods to customers, interfacing with Nexceris’ databases, and other administrative support.  Beyond the shipping and receiving role Nexceris is looking for individuals that can assist with administrative tasks such as filing, supplier quality, and database information entry.  Strong interpersonal skills are a must since the clerk will interact with many of the administrative, operations, sales and marketing team members to complete various tasks.    

You will need to show strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask various activities through a given workday to ensure Nexceris is running smoothly.  As an exceptional shipping and receiving clerk, you will have opportunities to advance to either an expanded role within our shipping/receiving department or within our Operations group.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Package/box materials for shipment with > 98% on time delivery, scheduling shipments through UPS, FedEx, DHL and other shipment company electronic systems with accurate product information and labels
  • Troubleshoot issues with shipments, including contacting customs, suppliers, carriers, or logistics partners
  • Interface with Nexceris’ inventory and order processing databases to log information and track shipments
  • Product realization – physical transfer of materials and components from inventory to smaller salable containers (will require use of respirator and the ability to left packages over 25 pounds)
  • Assist with day-to-day purchases activities including gas cylinder management
  • Receive incoming raw materials and in-process products; compare products against acceptance criteria and log products into Nexceris’ inventory database
  • General administrative support; filing of invoices, batch records, and customer order packets

Nexceris is looking for a motivated individual to assist with fabrication duties for the engineering cross functional team. Fabrication activities will include general process improvements, TIG welding similar components, manual machining and resurfacing, infrastructure improvements utilizing primarily Swagelok, light sheet metal cutting, bending and welding and much more. You will be a lifelong learner as new technologies are developed internally and externally as well as provide expertise input to team members both formally and informally. You need to be comfortable with a fast-paced environment where we are developing innovative technologies on short timelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Can safely operate most of the major shop tools (CNC Mill, CNC Router, CNC Laser, Water Jet, Sheet Metal Brake, Manual Mill, Manual Lathe, Forklift, and Cranes) performing basic operations in producing prototype parts, small production runs. modifications and repairs to existing parts and assemblies.
  • Experienced GTAW of stainless steels, Inconel a plus. Proficiency test or evidence of experience required
  • Supports in-house customers, such as Operations, Engineering, and Business Units with a customer centric approach. Interfaces effectively and courteously with customers and co-workers.
  • Utilizes work orders, blueprints, sketches, and/or 3D models, written and verbal instructions to determine machining process, procedures, tooling, fixtures requirements or additional equipment needed to complete the task.
  • Performs machining and/or assembly tasks utilizing standard machine shop equipment, such as surface grinders, drill presses, grinders, sanders, band saws, routers, and/or standard power tools.
  • Plans and performs complex machine set-ups. Possesses a good working knowledge of trigonometry, which is required to accurately calculate angles used in set-ups and machining. Makes full use of machine capacity to minimize amount of machining or number of set-ups required to product parts competitively.
  • Can nest parts to maximize material efficiency reducing waste.
  • Maintains cleanliness of the equipment and ensures proper handling of tools, equipment, and stock to prevent loss. Conforms to departmental safety requirements.

You will fill the role of LabVIEW and/or TestStand Software Technician within our Engineering Team. You will be responsible for developing test software hosted on in-house designed test stations. You will write drivers for test equipment and code tests used to validate hardware from circuit cards to sub-system components and up to systems for power generation, energy storage, remote sensing, and high temperature chemical reactors. You will generate required documentation including analysis and design trade studies, as well as participate in major design gate reviews including PDR and CDR.

Your role will require the creation of creative solutions and will require the interaction between multiple functional disciplines, including quality, product design and systems engineering, to meet program milestones and financial objectives. Nexceris is currently seeking a Customer Service/Sales Representative to work in our Lewis Center, OH office.  The service sales representative assists internal and external customers by performing a variety of sales duties including answering basic technical inquiries, providing product information, and creating detailed sales quotations for our global customers.  The service sales representative will also conduct market research via internet research, e-mails to interested website visitors, and phone calls or video conferencing to potential customers.  Working with product launch teams, the individual will use results of market research to help better understand and hone our value proposition to best meet the needs of our target markets. 

Successful candidates will generate sales opportunities by following up on leads, developing new accounts, understanding and interpreting technical requirements, providing technical information, understanding new markets, and helping to launch products.
